His Story

Carlos Olivarez debuted his first book in July of 2025. Though he has been a storyteller all his life, he never got around to putting anything down in writing. The inspiration behind his book, Rick: Embracing A Second Chance, came from the loss of his 19-year-old brother, Rick. Originally, this labor of love was to be something to share with just his family and friends. He always wondered what his brother’s life would have been like if he has survived the tragic car wreck back in 1989.

This venture into writing is part of his creative side. He started acting in 2020 on stage and in old time radio plays. Being able to take on other characters was a lot of fun for him and later moved on to being in commercials and the occasional small movie roles. His formal training in 2022 helped him understand the craft better and focus on this new outlet.

Aside from the writing and acting, Carlos has worked in IT for over 30 years. He built a successful career and continues to use this field to “pay the bills”.
